Motorola MING A1800 Can Handle Three Numbers At Once?

By admin • Mar 29th, 2008 • Category: Devices, Motorola, Rumors
Motorola MING A1800 Can Handle Three Numbers At Once? We've seen "World Edition" phones that come with domestic CDMA radios and a SIM card slot for international GSM reception. We've seen certain GSM cell phones that come with dual SIM card slots. The next-generation Motorola MING A1800 seems to take it one step further, because it is a CDMA and quad-band GSM device, and it just so happens to have two SIM card slots too. Assuming that my math is correct (1+1+1=?), this means that the A1800 is capable of handling three different cell phone numbers all at once. I'd imagine that there would have to be some sort of ... Nokia E52 Slider Smartphone For Realz?

By admin • Mar 29th, 2008 • Category: Devices, Nokia, Rumors
Nokia E52 Slider Smartphone For Realz? As with most of these kinds of mockups, you have to question the legitimacy of this image. Even so, the styling and the form factor look like they could be right in line with what the Finnish phonemaker would actually do. The Nokia E52 takes on a similar appearance as the existing Nokia E50, but slaps on a slider form factor and an understated sense of business chic to attract the fashionable corporates amongst us. Naturally, the spec sheet is pretty much non-existent on this potentially non-existent phone, but based on what Nokia has done in the past with its business-minded ... (Full Article)

Fido Motorola Q9h Smartphone In The House

By admin • Mar 29th, 2008 • Category: Devices, Motorola
Fido Motorola Q9h Smartphone In The House The UPS guy came by my house this morning to deliver a package from the good people at Fido. It's the new Motorola Q9h smartphone, one of the two Windows Mobile devices recently launched by Canada's dog of cellular provider. My initial impressions are that it's quite a bit wider than I expected, but they've managed to keep the profile reasonably slender. Booting up the device, I was initially shown a Motorola logo, then a Fido logo, then the Windows Mobile logo. I guess all three companies wanted their three seconds of fame. Having been accustomed to a touchscreen PocketPC device ... (Full Article)

Nokia N96 to get a xenon flash?

By admin • Mar 29th, 2008 • Category: Devices, Nokia, Rumors
Nokia N96 to get a xenon flash? An Esato forum member got Nokia representative to tell him a little secret - Nokia N96 will get a Xenon flash. Here's his/her full post: Ok, this isn't official news, but it's as official as I can get Our Nokia rep, who thinks we're great told me something intriguing today. He's said the N96 hasn't been given the complete green light yet (I'm guessing Nokia wanted to get something that resembles the real thing out in time for MWC). And the delays are due to them adding (at the last minute) a Xenon flash, ala N82! Finally, an all in one phone with almost ... (Full Article)

Nokia to announced N810 with WiMAX at CTIA?

By admin • Mar 29th, 2008 • Category: Devices, Linux, Nokia, Rumors
Nokia to announced N810 with WiMAX at CTIA? Nothing official here folks, but there are strong signs pointing out the Finish giant will announce the new addition to its Internet tablet family of devices, N810 with WiMAX, at the upcoming CTIA Wireless 2008 in Las Vegas. We did expected this to come, and at some point we event thought the WiMAX-enabled tablet will be called "N830." Aside from the WiMAX radio, we've no information that the device will have any different specs. More RAM and a better/faster CPU are certainly welcome, but I doubt we'll see that happening. Instead, Nokia just decided to use a new color for the ... (Full Article)

Sprint’s Roadmap shows Palm Treo 800w coming in July

By admin • Mar 29th, 2008 • Category: Devices, Palm, Rumors, Sprint
Sprint's Roadmap shows Palm Treo 800w coming in July Guess we expected this. I don't quite understand why it takes so much time for Palm to release the device with specs that match many of the HTC models.Anyway, the Palm Treo 800w is spotted in the leaked Sprint Roadmap and it should hit the CDMA/WiMAX carrier in July. The new device will replace the 700w model and will be the single most powerful Treo released to date — the addition of autonomous GPS is certainly new for Palm devices. There's also EV-DO Rev A support, WiFi, Windows Mobile 6 and a camera, though there will also be a camera-less ... (Full Article)

Telus Slides Home with LG Touch Venus

By admin • Mar 28th, 2008 • Category: Devices, LG, Verizon
Telus Slides Home with LG Touch Venus The LG Venus has been available through Verizon Wireless for a little while now, but we all know that Canadian service providers tend to lag a little behind. Rogers isn't the only Canadian telecom to announce a new LG cell phone today, because Telus Mobility is proud to say that they'll have the LG Venus. While it takes on a similar slider form factor as the LG Chocolate, the the LG Venus replaces the conventional five way navigator with a dynamic touchscreen that sits underneath the main screen. This adapts to the situation, showing music controls when you're bobbing your head ... (Full Article)

Not Quite iPhone, But Rogers Gets LG Vu Touchscreen Phone

By admin • Mar 28th, 2008 • Category: Devices, LG, Rogers
Not Quite iPhone, But Rogers Gets LG Vu Touchscreen Phone As Canadians anxiously await the arrival of the iPhone north of the 49th parallel (creating websites dedicated to the cause in the meantime), they now have another option when it comes to a phone that boasts only a couple of physical keys, relying instead on a touchscreen interface. The HTC Touch is already firmly established on Canadian soil, but Rogers has just announced that they will be picking up the LG Vu as well, another touchscreen phone that competes in the same market as the iPhone. You know, if the iPhone was officially available in Canada in the first place.Set ... (Full Article)

BlackBerry 9000 Gets Bumped, No Release Until Late Summer

By admin • Mar 28th, 2008 • Category: Devices
BlackBerry 9000 Gets Bumped, No Release Until Late Summer There certainly hasn't been a shortage of rumors surrounding the Blackberry 9000, including the possibility of a new touchscreen OS and even what was thought to be live pictures of the upcoming device. As we continue to sit on pins and needles over the thing, it turns out that the BlackBerry 9000 could be delayed and we won't be getting our grubby little hands on it until July or August. This is the latest rumor coming out of the Boy Genius Report, saying that the BB 9000 was originally scheduled to hit the shelves earlier on in the summer, but for ... (Full Article)

Giant Order Points Toward Imminent Arrival of 3G iPhone

By admin • Mar 27th, 2008 • Category: Apple, Devices, Mac OS, Rumors
Giant Order Points Toward Imminent Arrival of 3G iPhone It's coming and it's going to be hot. Word on the street is that Apple has placed an order of 10 million units from some Asian manufacturer and industry pundits are saying this order is for the 3G-equipped Apple iPhone. Gartner analyst Ken Dulaney turned to his "Asian sources" for this information. Think about why Apple would want to suddenly surge up production like that. The iPhone has been out for some time, so there is no reason to think that they would suddenly experience a huge surge in demand. That is, unless this new unit had something very popular to ...
